English as a Second Language
Launchpoint offers English as a second language to support English learners' language development in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English in compliance with federal and state regulations. The Norwood campus offers a yearlong ESL academy for beginning and intermediate students. The Language Academy is an intensive program designed to provide targeted English language and content instruction in a supportive environment.
Pregnancy-Related Services
During pregnancy and after delivery, you are eligible for instructional support services to stay on track in your academic courses. Services are provided when you are pregnant and attending classes on a campus, confined to home due to medical complications, and confined during the six-week postpartum period.
Section 504
The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, reauthorized in 2008, commonly referred to as Section 504, is a non-discrimination statute enacted by the United States Congress. The purpose of the act is to prohibit discrimination and ensure students with disabilities have educational opportunities and benefits equal to those provided to other students. An eligible student under Section 504 is a student who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits them in a major life activity, such as learning, self-care, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, reading, concentrating, breathing, working, and performing manual tasks.
Special Education
Special education services provide specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of qualifying students ages 18-22 in compliance with federal and state regulations. Special education services support the development of skills leading to future education and employment through individualized programs and services tailored to each student's unique needs.
